Krakenisexcitedtoannounceitwillmatchupto$50,000indonationstoopen-sourceEthereuminfrastructureprojectsaspartofGitcoin’slatestdonationdrivestartingMarch10.

Overtwoweeks,Gitcoin,aplatformforfundraisingbuiltontheEthereumblockchain,willmatchusergrantstoprojectsfocusedoneverythingfromeducationaloutreachtodecentralizedapplicationswith$500,000contributedbydonorssuchasKraken.

Kraken’ssupportoftheinitiativefollowsourDecemberannouncementthatwewoulddonateourfirstfundstoEthereumbuildersthroughGitcoin.OurgoalwiththisfinaldisbursementistohelpthenetworksuccessfullymigratetoEthereum2.0,acomingsoftwareupdate.

Amongotherchanges,Ethereum2.0willseethenetworkadjustitsmonetarypolicy,moveawayfromproof-of-workminingandintegrateahostofotherproposedimprovements.

“OurdonationmeanssupportingthedeveloperteamswhohaveworkedtirelesslytokeepEthereum’scurrentandfuturesoftwareversionsrunningsmoothlythroughoutthemigration,”saidPeteRizzo,Kraken’sEditorAtLarge,whooverseesourstrategicgiving.

ThislatestdonationbringsourtotalGitcoingivingto$150,000inmatcheddonations.

Thedonationfurtherunderscoresourcommitmenttothefutureofcryptocurrency,andcomesatatimewhenourclientsarealreadytakingadvantageofnewofferings,suchasstaking,forEthereum.
